in Saint Matthews, SC. Calhoun County Courthouse
Back in 2007 Phyllis and I nearly purchased a home and moved to Saint Matthews,SC. Phyllis was doing the bookkeeping and various administrative duties for a company located just outside town. She was commuting just less than one hour one way (about two hours total) every work day. We looked at various homes and properties both in city limits and in the country. We finally found an older southern home in the city limits that we both liked and the price was reasonable. We were about to close when an asbestos issue forced us to nix the deal.
This all worked out for the best as Phyllis changed jobs and I quit my job as a project manager/architectural hardware consultant/door consultant to take care of my parents (to allow them to stay in their home until their passing in their mid 90s). I commuted daily about two hours total. Plus I enjoyed the most wonderful experience in my life.
